The second General Assembly of the year 2025 of the Liptako Water Agency (AEL) was held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the invitation of the Director General, Mr. Yaya BADOLO. This meeting made it possible to review the level of implementation of activities for the year 2025 and to define the major orientations for the year 2026.
Overall, the discussions highlighted a physical and moral performance assessment deemed encouraging. Despite a context marked by numerous constraints, particularly security-related challenges, the Agency recorded an implementation rate of 84%, a satisfactory result in view of the difficulties encountered. This performance is the result of the strong mobilization of all stakeholders. Participants commended the Director General’s leadership, availability, and attentive listening.
On this occasion, the Director General indicated that two strategic studies were carried out, notably the study on the complete clearing of the banks of the Seytenga dam and the one concerning the delimitation of the Dori pond. He further emphasized that the synergy of actions made it possible to lay important foundations for stabilizing the right bank of the Yacouta dam, as well as for dredging the Dori pond. He also recalled the major progress made in the process of developing the Water Development and Management Master Plan (SDAGE), which resulted in the availability of a draft document.
In light of the results achieved in 2025, Yaya BADOLO remains confident that the year 2026 will be firmly focused on field operations, with the effective implementation of numerous projects. The discussions also addressed the Agency’s social life, which likewise reflected a positive assessment.
Looking ahead, the Agency intends, by 2026, to consolidate the gains made during the past year, enhance the visibility of its interventions, and intensify institutional communication. These actions aim to promote better ownership of the issues related to integrated water resources management in the Liptako area.
